SVS Subwoofer Isolation Feet
The American company SVS was founded in 1998 by a group of audio enthusiasts seeking to develop a better alternative to the underperforming and overpriced subwoofers flooding the US retail market. They exceeded all expectations, and SVS is now a global brand with great credibility and a whole army of loyal fans of the brand. SVS speakers and subwoofers are built to outperform competing products in the market at various price points. Through the use of cutting-edge technology, high-quality components, and the application of rigorous design and engineering principles, the SVS team has created a line of premium audio products that bring music and movies to life with stunning realism – all at truly affordable prices.
SVS SoundPath Subwoofer Isolation System
Subwoofers are the foundation of any home theater system. For many two-channel enthusiasts, a subwoofer is also an essential part of their setup. While a subwoofer can add that deep, chest-pounding bass it can also cause a number of unwanted vibrations that can muddy the sound and also shake your house or floor in a bad or annoying way.
For years there have been many attempts to isolate subwoofers to prevent vibrations from resonating into the home surfaces. Products such as Auralex’s SubDude have usually been the products of choice. While these products have been pretty effective, they’ve had two drawbacks: first, they are ugly and look like they belong with stagehands setting up a concert gig and second, they either are too wide/big for the sub or are too small.

Installation:
When I received the SoundPath feet I pulled them from the box along with the screws and looked them over. The fit and finish looked very good and the black/silver anodized steel shell holding the Elastomer foot gave it a nice, polished, finished look that I couldn’t match with my homemade ISO Platforms :-).
I tilted over one of the 115lb F18s and removed the first rubber foot. “Hmmm!” I thought… “That’s a big humpin’ screw!”. Yes, Martha, it was bigger than the SVS-supplied screws… the Rythmik supplied feet were 3/8” screws, considerably bigger than the largest SVS-supplied ¼” screws!
I tried to insert the Rythmik feet into the bottom of the SVS SoundPath feet to see if they would fit in the hole… They didn’t.
Here is where my level of commitment started to waver a bit…. But then I sucked it up and went to Home Depot and bought eight 3/8” x 1.5” hex head bolts. Knowing these would be too long I also bought eight matching nuts to use as spacers.
Going home I wrapped the steel shells with cloth and anchored them in a nice big Monkey Wrench and drilled the holes out to 3/8”. One screw and one nut later I was installing the feet on the sub. I repeated the process on the other sub and turned on the system.
SVS Subwoofer Isolation feet. Will YOU lose bass?
“I added the SVS feet under my 3 subs on a tile over the slab floor. I had a problem with things on the walls and shelves rattling when the lowest notes were played at moderate volume. The feet solved that problem. Whatever the reduction in bass was is offset by fewer rattles and more definition in the bass”
CONCLUSION
If you’re looking for a solution to keep your sub from rattling the neighbors or other rooms in the house, then I highly recommend the SVS subwoofer feet. Now, I’m enjoying my sub’s full impact without dealing with the floor vibrations that I’d also get as a byproduct. Thumbs up to the SVS team for a great product.
